Handbuilding Pottery Course

Immersive handbuilding pottery 5 week course! This course is perfect for beginners who are curious about working with clay and want to explore pottery without using a wheel. Through step-by-step guidance and hands-on practice, you’ll build confidence while learning how to create functional and decorative pieces using traditional handbuilding techniques. Participants will explore methods such as pinching and slab building while working with two types of clay. Throughout the course, you’ll also learn a variety of surface decorating techniques, including Mishima and sgraffito, allowing you to add unique detail and personality to your work. You’ll experience the full process from fresh clay to finished piece, with simple glazing taught in the final class. Try something new, relax, and create one-of-a-kind pottery!
