Try this fun decorating technique on a clay plate! Every skill level is welcome to this 2 hr workshop. What is Sgraffito? : A surface decorating technique that consists of layering the surface of a pot with colour and ‘scratching’ or carving away the superficial layers to reveal a contrasting colour layer below. Plates will be made by the instructor ahead of time and participants will get to carve their plate with a design of their choice (many images and transfers will be available). Different colours available. Once completed, the plate will be picked up 2 weeks later once it has been fired twice in a pottery kiln. Pottery creations are fired to a high temperature and glazed with a clear food-safe glaze. To ensure our instructor can provide individualized guidance and support tailored to everyone’s experience level, our workshop is limited to 10 spots. All materials included. Instructor: Steffi
