Through guided, step-by-step instruction and hands-on practice, this course will help participants build a solid foundation in charcoal drawing techniques while working on a variety of creative exercises and projects. Charcoal's unique ability to create deep shadows, dramatic contrasts, and soft transitions makes it a perfect medium for exploring light, form, and texture. In this course, you’ll explore essential charcoal techniques such as shading, blending, line work, and working with contrast. We’ll also dive into different imagery from simple mark-making to creating landscapes.
