Art journaling is a creative practice that combines visual art and personal expression in a journal format. Think of it as a sketchbook meets a diary—a space to explore thoughts, emotions, and ideas through paint, collage, drawing, and writing. There are no rules, and no right or wrong—it’s about process, not perfection. Whether for self-reflection, stress relief, or creative exploration, art journaling is a powerful way to connect with yourself. In this workshop, you’ll be introduced to art journaling as the beginning of a practice you can continue on your own. We’ll start by settling in with a warm drink in a cozy, creative environment. A guided meditation will support you in knowing where and how to begin, easing the blank-page feeling. From there, we’ll flow into gentle writing, choosing materials, and guided mark-making to loosen up and shift into a playful, curious mindset. You’ll then move into freer expression using images, colors, textures, words, or symbols. Throughout the process, your teacher will be there to guide and support you, offering prompts and encouragement within the flow of the workshop. We’ll close the workshop by writing any final thoughts, and offering a moment to share within the group (totally optional). This is not a one-time experience, but an invitation to begin a nourishing practice you can return to—for self-awareness, release, or simply the joy of creating. ***We ask that you bring a sketchbook, journal, or notebook that you already own.
